12x Background Radiation In 7/8/12 STL Storms



We captured our first live airborne radiation reading during a thunderstorm via our new outdoor radiation monitor. Live data from our Saint Louis outdoor Geiger counter may be seen at the following link.

The live data indicated an approximate 4 CPM jump from 14 CPM to 18 CPM.
A sample swipe taken from our truck after the rain ended indicated levels about 12 times greater than background.

    Yo, Mr. Potrblog, take a look at this http://youtu.be/9ssXYaYIoTs Does the red, and purple color say anything different about the particle content that the flares are running through recently?

      Best guess is that it is a Proton Aurora; not a good sign when the upper atmosphere is loaded with Fukushima fallout like Cs-133, as it leads to spallations that produce radioactive iodines.

      It will be interesting to see if there is another round of indeterminate radioiodine detections from locations willing to report such findings.
